Robert
Arevalo
In an industry were
Hispanics are few and far in between, Robert Arevalo is paving a way
for himself as a strong creative talent in Hollywood with a list of
impressive credits. While working as a messenger on the 20th Century
Fox lot, Arevalo met the fresh young director Robert Rodriguez (El
Mariachi). Arevalo was then offered the unforgettable role of the
guy with the broken leg in the 1995 blockbuster Desperado.
He went on to guest star on Fox's Space: Above and Beyond, played
Ernest Borgnine's nephew on NBC's The Single Guy, made a guest appearance
as a boxer in HBO's Arliss, guest starred in NBC's Days of Our Lives,
and appeared for the second time with Salma Hayek in the romantic
comedy Fools Rush In. Arevalo will be seen co-starring in the upcoming
ABC movie of the week the Runaway Virus in January 2000. As a writer/director,
Arevalo has established his own production company "A Done Deal Films,"
which will focus on film projects. He recently wrote and directed
his first project, Nick Nitro is the Investigator, a slapstick comedic
film set in the 1970's. It can be seen in various film festivals across
the country. Robert is also broadening his comedic flare writing and
directing commercial spots as well as music videos for the Spanish/English
and Japanese markets. Arevalo's mission is to take a fresh, hands-on
approach as a filmmaker, and gather a pool of unknown, Latino talent
whom otherwise would continue to go unnoticed by the current regime
in Hollywood.
